OperaLab, Laboratory for singers is a private research,
training, and promotion organization for singers founded
and directed since 2000 by Gilles DENIZOT.
Apart from its main studio in Brussels, OperaLab has
eight other studios located in Geneva, Glasgow, Lausanne,
London, Newcastle, New York, Paris, and York. In 2008, three additional studios open in Athens, Berlin and Hamburg* (* future main OperaLab studio).
OperaLabUK (which includes all UK studios and whose main studio is in Newcastle) is directed by Heather BURNS. The OperaLabUK
Head of Vocal Studies and Associate Teacher is Austin GUNN.
Since its opening, OperaLab has offered individual voice
lessons to numerous professional and/or amateur classical
singers. Workshops, intensive courses, Masterclasses,
acting and contemporary music classes have also
been organised in the various studios.
Vocal research and pedagogy, as well as promoting
OperaLab students are our other main activities. Concerts,
recitals, and staged productions are scheduled,
thanks to OperaLab's prestigious partners.
